You will complete the following Activities:

• Lab 1 Part 1:_Orders of Magnitude

• Lab 1 Part 2: Measurement Error Propagation

NOTE: These outline sheets are NOT meant to be submitted on their own as labs under any circumstances—they are merely guidelines for the students to follow to complete the labs. Please follow the 7-step format below for all assigned labs 

What you will submit 

A pdf file where the work performed in the 2 activities is presented following the 7-step format. If you don't have access to canvas yet, you can email it, but after you gain access to canvas, YOU MUST UPLOAD TO CANVAS.

7-Step Format

• Title (underlined)

• Purpose of the lab experiment (one sentence)

• Description of the experimental setup (with detailed diagrams or photos)

• Procedure of the experiment

• Data (tables) and/or observations

• Analysis of data (the thinking part of the lab – what information can you extract from the data? What percent error did you have in the experiment?)

• Conclusions (a synopsis of your findings, important comments on how to improve the experiment, percent differences, explanation of error sources)
